‘Ram-leela’ Box Office Collection: Ranve Deepika Starrer Becomes 4th Highest G Film in India

The epic love story "Goliyon Ki Raasleel leela" has registered itself as one of the grosser films released in 2013. Farhan Akhtar's sport biopic in its four running period has collected ₹108.93 Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh has smashed that record in just 17 day But the film would not be able to break record of the top three films as its colle slowed down drastically in Indian mar The top three grosser films of the year "Krrish 3", "Chennai Express" and "Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani". "Ram-leela" is Deepika's fourth film tha been listed in the highest grosser list. A her fourth film to enter the ₹100 crore Here is a list of top 10 grosser of the ye Positions Films 1. Krrish 3 2. Did Deepika Padukone borrow ex- beau Ranbir Kapoor’s jacket?

The Ram-Leela actor was spotted wearing a jacket similar to her ex- beau’s. So was her style statement just a borrowed piece of clothing from the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actor, or was it something they shared in the past? Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor’s affair is a thing of past. In fact, both the stars have moved on- Deepika with Ranveer Singh and Ranbir with Katrina Kaif. While she prefers to keep her current affair private, her love-hate story with Ranbir was quite a public one. From the infamous RK tattoo to her glorious bitching session with Sonam Kapoor on Koffee with Karan season 3 – everything was out in the open. The duo buried the hatchet when they came together for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani this year and it seems, at least to us, that RK-DP are the new besties of B-town. Why do we say this, you ask? Well just a few days ago, Deepika was sporting a white tee, teamed with a light brown leather jacket and a pair of tattered jeans. Coincidentally, Ranboo has a jacket quite close to this one and was seen wearing a similar combination in the past too. If the duo walked hand- in-hand, ex-flames Deepika and Ranbir would look like an attention seeking couple who love matching their outfits during public appearances. Anyway, what we don’t understand is- why was the fashionista wearing that jacket, when she knows that media’s privy eyes will not spare her? Was she drawing inspiration from her ex? Or was she simply missing him? Or was it a gift from Ranboo? In any case, shouldn’t it be Katrina Kaif borrowing Ranbir’s jacket or look and not Deepika? Oh, the matters of the heart are all so confusing to us innocent people, haina BollywoodLifers? But what do you think – who will carry off Ranbir’s jacket better – Deepika or Katrina? *Tag: Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Koffee with Karan, Ram Leela, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani*

Production
Development
Rajinikanth's next film, after his
prior venture with Shankar's
Enthiran (2010), was supposed
to be Rana, a historical drama
film to be directed by K. S.
Ravikumar and dually-produced
by Soundarya R. Ashwin's Ocher
Picture Productions and Eros
Entertainment.[12] However,
Rajinikanth became ill and was
treated for dehydration and
exhaustion at a hospital,
resulting in postponement of
Rana's filming.[13] On 23
November 2011, for her maiden
directorial project, Soundarya
tweeted through her Twitter
account, notifying followers to
watch out for an official
announcement.[14] The
following day, she announced
that her father's next film
would be titled Kochadaiyaan
and that she was "[grateful and]
excited to be directing [her]
father".[15] A tentatively
scheduled release period of
August 2012 was also
announced.[16] The film was
finalised to be a co-production
of Eros Entertainment and Media
One Global.[17] Soundarya
further stated that K. S.
Ravikumar had worked with her
father and herself on the script
of the film.[18] With regards to
the film's title, Ravikumar
claimed that it drew reference
to an alternate name of Hindu
deity Shiva, while also being
partly inspired by the name of
the Pandya Dynasty king
Kochadaiyan Ranadhiran, and
that the plot would be a
fictional account with small
references to Indian history.[19]
The director clarified that
Kochadaiyaan was not related
to the same-titled history series
being published by the Tamil
magazine Kumudam.[20][21]
Casting
For the female lead role,
Anushka Shetty was initially
approached,[22] but sources
confirmed later that she was
not part of the film.[23] It was
then rumoured that Asin
Thottumkal and Vidya Balan
were being considered for the
role, since producers preferred a
Bollywood actress.[24]
Soundarya R. Ashwin
approached Bollywood actress
Katrina Kaif in January 2012,[25]
who was not able to give her
dates and the team
reapproached Balan.[26] Despite
reports that Kaif was finalised,
[27]Deepika Padukone, who was
slated to pair with Rajinikanth in
Rana, took up the offer in
February 2012, marking her
debut in Tamil cinema.[28] The
film began to increase its
casting profile after Malayalam
actor Prithviraj was rumoured
to have been signed to play an
important role in the film.[29]
The rumour was falsified
following the inclusion of Aadhi,
who was known for his lead-
role performances in Mirugam
(2007) and Eeram (2009), in the
cast; when he confirmed his
presence in the project, he
remarked that working with
Rajinikanth was "a realisation of
a dream that he has had since
childhood".[30]Sneha was
reported to be finalised for a
supporting role,[31] with the
actress confirming her presence
in the film in December 2011.
[32] She, however, opted-out a
couple months later citing
conflicts in her schedule and
Rukmini Vijayakumar, who
made her debut in the film
Bommalattam (2008), was
signed in her place.[33]R.
Sarathkumar accepted
Soundarya's offer for an
important role in the film while
veteran actor Nassar was
recruited in the film as well for a
supporting role.[27][34]
Furthermore, Shobana and
Lakshmi Manchu were said to be
considered for a role in the film.
[35] Soundarya confirmed that
the former was added to the
cast saying that she was the
"only choice for the role" as the
character was written keeping
her in mind.[36][37] Soundarya
disclaimed the rumour that
Aishwarya Rai was chosen to do
a guest appearance in the film.
[38] Bollywood actor Jackie
Shroff, who was last seen in
Tamil cinema playing a crucial
role in the critically acclaimed
Aaranya Kaandam (2011), was
also signed up for an
antagonistic role.[39] Shroff
immediately gave his consent,
when the cast and the technical
scope of Kochadaiyaan were
revealed to him.[40] Later
reports confirmed that the film
will feature late actors like
Nagesh, P. S. Veerappa, M. N.
Nambiar, S. A. Ashokan, and R. S.
Manohar recreated through
sophisticated animation
techniques.[41]Peter Hein was
chosen as the film's action
choreographer,[42] while A. R.
Rahman agreed to compose the
film's background score and
soundtrack.[43][44]Rajiv Menon
was recruited as the film's
cinematographer.[45] Soundarya
invited art professionals to send
their work as she was forming
an art department for
Kochadaiyaan.[46] She
handpicked 42 students from
Government College of Fine Arts,
Chennai
for the task, besides 50
experienced persons from the
Jacob College of Fine Arts. 60
concept artistes were already
reportedly working for the film.
[47]
Filming
The film posters claimed filming
to utilise performance capturing
technology, same as that used in
films such as Avatar (2009) and
The Adventures of Tintin (2011),
making Kochadaiyaan the first
Indian film to involve so.[48][49]
K. S. Ravikumar, story writer of
the film, announced that the
filming would commence from
15 January 2012.[50] The first
schedule of indoor shooting
started with Rajinikanth's base
actions being filmed as per the
motion capturing norms.[23]
The film was launched with a
formal puja on 19 January 2012
at the Ganesha temple located
inside AVM Studios in
Vadapalani, Chennai.[51] First-
look posters of the film were
released on 5 February 2012.
[52] The first schedule of the
film shooting began on in
Chennai on 15 March 2012, post
this, the team was off to
London along with the lead
actor Rajinikanth to continue
the first schedule.[53] In course
of the schedule for 20 days in
London shooting along with
Soundarya and Ravikumar,
Rajinikanth claimed the film may
release on Diwali 2012.[54] After
completing the first schedule of
the film in London, Rajinikanth
returned to Chennai on 2 April
2012 and the next schedule of
the film shooting was planned
in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.[55]
Soundarya roped in Saroj Khan,
Raju Sundaram, Chinni Prakash
and his wife, and Shobi to
choreograph the songs.[56]
Rajinikanth's hairstyle in the
film is said to be inspired from
his earlier look in Thalapathi
(1991).[57]
The second schedule of the film
was shot in
Thiruvananthapuram at
Chitranjali studio and Vismayas
Max studio.[58][59] The second
schedule was completed on 30
April 2012.[60] A sizzling
romantic number
choreographed by Saroj Khan
featuring the leading duo was
filmed in early May 2012 as a
part of second schedule.[61] It
was said that the entire film
shooting would be completed in
the second schedule itself and
the post-production work
would begin.[62] However, the
team was off with the lead
actor to Hong Kong for the third
schedule of the film on 12 May
2012 where some crucial scenes
and combat scenes featuring
the lead actor and the
antagonist were shot at the
State of the Arts Gallery studio.
[63][64][65] Since the film was
shot using performance capture
technology, 48 cameras were
used to shoot each and every
scene. The 48 cameras captured
performance of artistes' at 48
angles.[66]Kochadaiyaan was
equipped with Auro 3D sound
technology, becoming the third
Indian film to do so.[67][68] As
per reports, due to involvement
of extensive graphics, four
separate teams from Chennai to
London were also working on
the film.[69] On 20 February
2013 the director announced
through Twitter that
Kochadaiyaan was in the
process of being finalized.[70]
On 28 February 2013 the final
edited version of the film was
viewed by the director, writer
and the lead actor along with
handful crew members.[71]
Although reports of November
2012 suggested that lead
actress Deepika Padukone would
dub her own voice for the Tamil
version,[72] it was later
announced that she would dub
only for the Hindi version as the
makers of the film felt that the
film's "chaste Tamil" would be a
"tad difficult for her".[73] In
June 2013, Soundarya
announced that the film would
feature a fight sequence "in the
middle of the ocean", where
Rajinikanth's character would be
fighting dolphins.

Deepika Padukone gets intimate with Ranveer Singh

Deepika Padukone has shot an
intimate scene with alleged
boyfriend Ranveer Singh in
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's
'Ram Leela'. It is heard that
their off-screen chemistry rocks
in the film and it is assumed that
it is the result of the great bond
they share off-screen.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika
Padukone's alleged love saga
kick-start on the set of 'Ram
Leela'. Ranveer is head over
heels in love with Deepika and
he has expressed his liking for
the long legged actress
numerous times.
Ranveer Singh has been
reportedly visiting his co-star
Deepika Padukone at her
apartment quite frequently.
They both spend quality time at
the actress's apartment, away
from the shutterbugs.
It seems that the couple has
been taking things slow. It was
earlier rumored that Deepika and
Ranveer were living-in together.
A leading magazine's source
quoted, "Ranveer and Deepika
have been going steady. Though
they have been carrying out
their romance over hush-hush
lunches and dinners, they are
spending quality time together
inside the cosy confines of her
home. Critics may say it's all for
the publicity of their upcoming
film, the two are very much in
love."
After ex-Ranbir moved ahead
with Kat, it's an apt time for
Deepika to move on as well.
In a recent interview, Deepika
was all ga-ga about her new
boyfriend. She said, "We are
very compatible. He's got the
gift of spreading happiness. He
walks into the room and makes
you smile." Well, this is the
reason why Deepika is letting
her prince charming walk into
her life.
Recently, Deepika and Ranveer
were spotted enjoying a good
time at olive bar in Mumbai. A
neighbor of Deepika told that
Ranveer has been quite
frequent at the actress's flat and
the two spend quality time
together. Many times, Ranveer
has dinner at Deepika's place.
Deepika is staying in a post
apartment in Prabhadevi,
Mumbai. She owns that
apartment.
The chemistry between the
alleged couple took-off to
another level. Deepika and
Ranveer are reported to have
observed a one day fast in the
holy month of Ramadan. They
did not take an off from work.
They both did their shooting
and in the evening, enjoyed
Iftaar party together.
Well, something serious is really
cooking up!

Is Deepika Padukone ready for a relationship after Ranbir Kapoor?

The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
star recently admitted that
post her break-up with the
Besharam actor, she wants
to take it easy. This, she
insists, is certainly not the
time to get into a
relationship
Even though Deepika Padukone
has spoken about her ex-
boyfriend and Yeh Jawaani Hai
Deewani co-star Ranbir Kapoor
on numerous occasions at
length, and says that she still
loves him – though she may not
be in love with him – she knows
how to take some really
uncomfortable questions in her
graceful stride.
"This is not the time and I'm not
ready for it. But I'm sure it will
happen when it has to. I hope
it's not a permanent situation.
I'm hoping that that will change
at some point. But I'm sure it will
happen when it has to. I'm not
going to keep talking to the
flowers every morning,"
maintains Padukone.
Recently the leggy lass and her
movie Ram Leela co-star
Ranveer Singh have been
spending quality time together
at Deepika's plush flat, we hear.
Dippy's neighbors allege that
Ranveer frequents her luxurious
apartment and they are often
seen sharing cozy meals
together. Are they friends of
'good friend' or what? We want
to know!
There's no denying that the
Chennai Express star has
reached the pinnacle of success
and has raced ahead of her
contemporaries, but what has
that got to do with her seeing
or not seeing anyone? Any
answers, Dippy?

After Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra flaunts her specs- Deepika Padukone

It seems, even Deepika
Padukone's nerdy (read boring)
looks are interesting enough to
become popular, not just among
the masses, but also among her
own contemporaries!
After YJHD, we spotted Shruti
Hassan copying Deepika
Padukone's nerdy looks, when
she walked in for the special
screening of D-Day and now we
spotted Priyanka Chopra
flaunting nerd's identity symbol,
recently at an event.
Interestingly, this is Priyanka
Chopra's first ever outing in
specs since she has been
associated with the industry
and this happens bang after
Deepika Padukone popularised
the humble eye aide.
We might beg to differ from the
obvious that Priyanka is aping
Deepika Padukone but sadly,
even though we want to but

Deepika Padukone Deepika Padukone Padukone in 2012 Born 5 January 1986 (age 27)[1] Copenhagen, Denmark Occupation Actress, Model Years active 2006–present Deepika Padukone (born 5 January 1986) is an Indian actress and model. She appears mostly in Bollywood films. Born to badminton player Prakash Padukone, she chose to become an actress.[2] Padukone made her acting debut with the 2006 Kannada film Aishwarya.[3] The following year, she played the lead female role in the reincarnation melodrama Om Shanti Om; the film proved a major commercial success and earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut . She was later noted for portraying modern, independent women in several commercially successful films, including the 2009 romantic drama Love Aaj Kal, the 2010 comedy Housefull, and the 2012 romantic comedy Cocktail. Her performance in the latter earned her unanimous critical appreciation and Best Actress nominations at several award ceremonies. In addition to acting, Padukone is also the ambassador of prominent brands such as Tissot, [4]Sony Cybershot,[5]Yamaha,[6] Nescafe[7] and Garnier.[8] Early life and background Padukone was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is a former badminton player of international repute, and her mother is a travel agent. Her father was then training in Denmark in the sport and when she was eleven months old her family moved to Bangalore, Karnataka, India.[9] Padukone has a younger sister, Anisha, born on 2 February 1991.[10] Padukone attended Sophia High School in Bangalore, and completed her pre-university studies at Mount Carmel College Bangalore.[11] While in high school she played badminton at the state level.[12] However, she was not keen on pursuing a career as a badminton player. [13] During the time of her film debut she was enrolled with the Indira Gandhi National Open University in Bachelors of Arts (Sociology). [14][15] ↑Jump back a section Career Early modelling career, until 2006 While in college, Padukone pursued a career in modelling. [16] She was spotted in a ramp competition in NLS, Bangalore. [ citation needed] Over the years, she has modelled for such Indian brands as Liril, Dabur Lal powder, Close-Up toothpaste and Limca, and has been "brand ambassador" for the Jewels of India retail jewellery show.[17] The cosmetics company Maybelline made her its international spokesperson.[18] At the fifth annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards she was awarded the title "Model of the Year".[19] Shortly afterward, she was chosen as one of the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar for 2006 and won two trophies at the Idea Zee Fashion Awards: "Female Model of the Year (Commercial Assignments)" and "Fresh Face of the Year".[20][21] Padukone was also chosen as the brand ambassador of Levi Strauss.[22] In addition, she appeared in the music video for Himesh Reshammiya's song "Naam Hai Tera". Debut and film breakthrough, 2006–09 Padukone made her cinematic debut in Kannada with Aishwarya opposite Kannada Superstar Upendra in 2006. The film was a Candyfloss Romantic Comedy and was a commercial success. She later made a successful Bollywood debut in 2007 with Farah Khan's blockbuster Om Shanti Om opposite Shahrukh Khan. The film was a re-incarnation melodrama, featuring her in a double role.[23][24] Her performance was well received, earning the actress a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award as well as her first Filmfare Best Actress nomination. Taran Adarsh from indiaFM noted, "Deepika has all it takes to be a top star — the personality, the looks and yes, she's supremely talented too. Standing in the same frame as SRK and getting it right is no small achievement. She comes as a whiff of fresh air!"[25] About being cast opposite Shah Rukh Khan, she said, “ "When Farah was casting for Happy New Year, she saw my commercials on TV and called my agent. I met her when she was rehearsing at a dance hall in Juhu. When that film didn’t happen, she offered me OSO. Farah took care of me right from the first meeting, introducing me to Shah Rukh Khan and ensuring that I was comfortable with him. Six months prior to shooting, we frequently met up for lunches and dinners."[26] ” Padukone was then seen playing a feisty, modern-day Indian woman, Gayatri, in Siddharth Anand's romantic comedy Bachna Ae Haseeno alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba.[27] The film, which released on 15 August 2008, performed reasonably well at the box office, but her performance drew flak. Adarsh wrote, "Deepika is a sore point. Her role isn't convincing and that's the reason why this performance doesn't work. The only consolation is, she looks gorgeous."[28] She played a double role again in Chandni Chowk To China, which released on 16 January 2009. The film, directed by Nikhil Advani, featured Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Ranvir Shorey in the lead. It was a critical and commercial disaster, with Nikhat Kazmi of The Times of India commenting, "Deepika looks lost and forlorn for most of the film."[29] Padukone's fourth release Love Aaj Kal, released on 31 July 2009, proved to be one of the biggest hits of 2009.[30] Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film documented the changing value of relationships among the youth. Padukone played the role of Meera Pandit, a practical and head-strong career woman opposite Saif Ali Khan. Of her performance, NDTV's Anupama Chopra wrote, "Deepika looks fabulous but she isn’t a strong enough actor to breathe life into the character."[31] Despite this, she received her second Filmfare Award for Best Actress nomination.[32] Padukone unveils the new Blackberry Torch The same year, she teamed up with Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan once again for an item number in the Irrfan Khan-Lara Dutta starrer Billu.[33] She made guest appearances in the Telegu film Love 4 Ever and in Sohail Khan's Main Aur Mrs Khanna.[34] [35] Initial success, 2010–present Her first release in 2010 was Excel Entertainment’s Karthik Calling Karthik. The thriller featured Farhan Akhtar as Karthik, a troubled schizophrenic man, and Padukone as his supportive girlfriend, Shonali Mukherjee. This time, Anupama Chopra wrote, "Padukone finally seems to be thawing in front of a camera."[36] However, it was a commercial failure.[37] She then featured in Sajid Khan's multistarrer Housefull with Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Lara Dutta, Arjun Rampal, Jiah Khan and Boman Irani. She played the role of Soundarya Bhagyalakshmi Venkateshwari Baassappa Rao, Kumar's girlfriend and later fiancĂ©e. The film became a blockbuster in India, with a net gross of INR 950 million in the first week.[38] As for her performance, Taran Adarsh mentioned that "Deepika is a surprise. She carries her part with amazing confidence...Housefull is the film that would make people notice her talent as well as beauty".[39] She then appeared in her second Yash Raj production, Lafangey Parindey which was directed by Pradeep Sarkar. She starred opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh as Pinky Palkar, a blind girl, hellbent on winning a skating competition. Upon release, Sudhish Kamath, of The Hindu wrote, "This really is Deepika Padukone's film though. She exercises considerable restraint, dances, skates, makes you cry and smile."[40] Padukone with her Break Ke Baad co-star Imran Khan Her next release was Kunal Kohli's syrupy romance Break Ke Baad opposite Imran Khan, where she played Aaliya Khan, an impetuous brat. The film was not a commercial success but won Padukone favourable reviews.[41] Nikhat Kazmi noted, "Padukone's climactic act seems to be the best performance in her entire career: completely spontaneous, crazy and cute."[42] Her final release of 2010; Ashutosh Gowarikar's Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey top-lining Abhishek Bachchan, met with scathing reviews and was declared a flop. The period drama was a retelling of the 1930 Chittagong armoury raid, with Bachchan playing the revolutionary leader Surya Sen and Padukone playing Kalpana Dutta, his lover and confidant. [43] A review carried by The Hollywood Reporter, however, mentioned her portrayal of Dutta as "impressive".[44] She began the year 2011 with an item number in Rohan Sippy's Dum Maaro Dum starring Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu. Her song was a remixed version of Zeenat Aman's iconic song from Hare Rama Hare Krishna.[45] The raunchy lyrics and suggestive dancing received mixed reviews. The Deccan Chronicle mentioned her moves as "mechanised gyrations", while Adarsh wrote, "Deepika scorches the screen in the title track."[46][47] Next, she featured in Prakash Jha's reservation melodrama, Aarakshan starring alongside Amitabh Bachchan, as his daughter, and Saif Ali Khan, as his love-interest.[48] Pratim D. Gupta noted, "Deepika, though, is again the refreshing thing about a movie. Both her scenes with Bachchan — one where she revolts and the other where she redeems herself — show how she has come of age as an actor."[49] Padukone next appeared in Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz alongside Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Chitrangada Singh. The film received mixed reviews from critics and was an average success at the box office. In 2012, Padukone first appeared in Homi Adajania's Cocktail opposite Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty. The film gyrated Padukone with accolades and praises, and earned her her third Filmfare Award for Best Actress.[50] Anupama Chopra of Hindustan Times wrote, "The big surprise here is Deepika, who moves beyond her usual statuesque mannequin pose and gets into the skin of the emotionally raw and needy poor little rich girl. This is easily her best performance to date."[51] Devesh Sharma of Filmfare said, "Deepika looks ravishing and is one actress who can carry off a bikini. She’s the soul of the film and excels in every scene, whether as a material girl who enjoys sex, drugs and rock and roll or as the jealousy ridden girl out to destroy herself."[52] Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama noted, "The scene stealer is, without doubt, Deepika, who not only looks sizzling hot, but pitches in her career-best performance. She lets herself loose, surrenders to her character wholly and nails the performance. It's an incredibly noticeable act. It wouldn't be erroneous to state that Cocktail would do for Deepika what Jab We Met did for Kareena."[53] Also, the film was a major commercial success in both the Indian box office,[54] [55] and overseas box office. [56] Padukone was last seen in the multistarrer Race 2 alongside Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel.[57][58] The film received a mostly negative critical reception,[59] unlike its predecessor. Despite this, Race 2 was a commercial success,[60] grossing 93.50 crore (US$17.02 million) nett approx at the domestic box office[61] and US$ 6 million approx overseas,[62] making it her biggest commericial success. Padukone received mixed reviews for her portrayal of femme fatale Elena. Whilst Taran Adarsh compliments that "Deepika has the best scenes in the film. She looks stunning and immerses herself into her character completely",[63] Subhash K Jha notes that "[she] hardly look[s] provocative enough to be convincing as [a] femme fatale."[64] Following this, Padukone is all set to make her Kollywood debut in Soundarya Rajnikanth's Kochadaiyaan opposite Rajnikanth. She is currently filming for Ayan Mukerji's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani opposite ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor,[65] [66]Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela opposite Ranveer Singh. [67][68][69] and Rohit Shetty's action romance film Chennai Express alongside Shahrukh Khan.[70][71][72] ↑Jump back a section Other work Padukone at the special screening of Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi at Cinemax Philanthropy As part of NDTV's Greenathon Campaign, Padukone adopted Ambegaon, a village in Maharashtra, that was facing a major electricity crisis.[73] In the media In 2009, Padukone started writing weekly columns for HT City, the lifestyle supplement of Hindustan Times. These columns appear online on social network, Desimartini.[74] She appeared on the cover of lifestyle magazine Vogue on May 2010 and 2011.[75] She also walked the red carpet at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.[76] On November 2010, she appeared on Koffee With Karan, a popular chat show along with Sonam Kapoor. Her comments on ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor led to a lot of controversy among Bollywood inner-circles.[77] ↑Jump back a section Personal life In March 2008, Padukone began dating Ranbir Kapoor after meeting on the sets of their film Bachna Ae Haseeno.[78] After their high profile break up in November 2009, Padukone has decided to keep her personal life away from media attention.[79] In 2010, she reportedly started dating Siddharth Mallya, Kingfisher head honcho Vijay Mallya's son; although this was never confirmed by Padukone. [80][81] They broke up in 2012.
